James & Ashtyn’s Luxury Wedding at The Preserve at Canyon Lake

Some weddings are elegant. Some are a party. But every so often, a wedding comes along that manages to be both—in the most seamless, spectacular way.

James and Ashtyn’s wedding at The Preserve at Canyon Lake was a modern twist on classic luxury: a black and white color palette with bold editorial flair, candlelight everywhere you looked, and fashion-forward design at every turn. But make no mistake—this was also a celebration to remember and their guests showed up and showed out. Think glow sticks, light-up cowboy hats, and a dance floor that didn’t slow down for a second.

As a Planning + Design client, James and Ashtyn trusted us to carry their vision from inspiration board to reality—and the result was a wedding that looked like a luxury editorial and felt like the best night of your life.

Luxury Wedding = All the Show-stopping Details

If you ever hear anyone say black and white weddings are boring, make sure you show them this gallery. James and Ashtyn took a tried-and-true classic and gave it a warm, modern flair that can’t be described as anything other than stunning.

Having the honor to bring their vision to reality through florals and rentals felt extra special to us. For their ceremony they wanted to keep it simple but romantic, not wanting to take away from the stunning view the floor to ceiling windows showcase at The Preserve. The aisle was lined with white rose petals and dreamy candles, and 4 white columns topped with florals framed James and Ashtyn as they said their I do’s. Simple. Sweet. Stunning.

Cocktail hour showcased a comfortable lounge set and a 7ft tall seating chart with custom seating cards and a floral box filled with greenery and white blooms at the bottom. The showstopper at the reception was the vined greenery draped from the curved staircase that created a beautiful statement piece.

Reception centerpieces consisted of vined greenery, floral arrangements of white blooms, and a lot of candles that gave the entire reception hall a warm cozy glow. We can’t forget to mention their light up marquee letter initials that sat in front of the DJ booth.

The Luxury Guest Experience

James & Ashtyn prioritized their guests' experience and pulled out all the stops. Beginning with their choice of venue, they took into consideration the weather of a February wedding and chose a venue that offered an indoor ceremony site. We were lucky for beautiful weather on the day of the wedding, but one thing about us Texans is we don’t like to be cold.

They wanted to ensure guests got to enjoy a night of luxury with a plated dinner, an open bar, and a DJ they brought in from Dallas that kept the night lively, fun, and the dance floor popping.

Editorial Moments After Dark

Late into the evening, James and Ashtyn took a quiet moment away from the crowd for a mini editorial-style photoshoot—and we’re still swooning. Moody lighting, sleek posing, high-fashion energy. It's giving Vogue wedding spread and we were here for it.

And Then… the Party Began

When we say the reception came to life—we mean lit up. Literally.

The DJ kept the energy sky-high and the dance floor was non-stop the entire evening. James and Ashtyn made sure to include fun props like light up disco cowboy hats and light up glow sticks that the guests loved.

We can’t share photos of their wedding and not carve out a little section just to show off these two a little more. Through the entire planning process they were incredibly sweet, thoughtful and just incredible to work with. They were intentional in their approach and you didn’t need to be there to look at these photos and see how in love they are.

And Now…A New Chapter

We couldn’t wrap this up without sharing the sweetest update: James and Ashtyn are now expecting their first baby! Watching their journey continue is the greatest joy, and we couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter in their love story.
